Nelson’s Journey supports children and young people in Norfolk after someone important to them has died. The charity has commissioned us to update the CRM its team uses to organise that work.
Where a request starts
On the family-facing side, someone asking for help can see who the service is for, how to contact the team and which details they need to provide. The form also explains where to turn if a child needs urgent help.

What goes into a referral meeting?
Before staff can decide on the next step for a family, they need to bring the right information to the meeting. We’re building around that sequence. The team can look up a referral, prepare a meeting pack and review a separate page for each child before exporting the pack. When someone picks up the follow-up work, they can see what was agreed.
There’s a different rhythm to the fundraising side. Here the work includes keeping track of supporters, recording donations and managing Gift Aid. A fundraiser and a colleague preparing a referral meeting need different things from the same system.
Word from the trustees
Simon Wright, the charity’s chief executive, shared a progress update with the Board of Trustees. He told us the trustees were enthusiastic about the work under way. It was lovely feedback for the team to receive while the build is taking shape.
