About Vindoux
Vindoux (French for sweet wine) is a productive fruit, wine and olive farm; it also offers outstanding self-catering and serviced guest accommodation. Vindoux is situated on a tar road, 5 Km from the picturesque and historical village of Tulbagh, in the Boland Winelands of the Western Cape.
This is one of the most beautiful valleys in South Africa. Tulbagh is 130 km North of Cape Town.
(100 km from CPT airport, 80 km from Stellenbosch and 30 km South of Ceres)
Vindoux exports 300 tonnes of plums to Europe annually; and will shortly be producing its own Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mouverdre, and Viognier wines.
Vindoux also operates a large Olive Nursery producing 70,000+ olive trees, each year, for the local market.
Vindoux is surrounded on three sides by the stunning Witzenberg Mountains and is blessed with a Mediterranean type climate with warm, dry summers and mild, fresh winters, often with snow on the hills.
Vindoux is a paradise for wildlife lovers. The farm has an abundance of mature native trees, including a 200-year-old perfect English Oak as well as Willows, Pride of India and Giant Bottle Brush Trees. Its beautifully maintained gardens with rare and unusual shrubs and plants are unique in Tulbagh. Vindoux is also host to many native species of birds including the rare Blue Crane, Fish Eagle, Egret, Woodpeckers and many migratory species as well as bats and other small mammals. A family of Meerkats lives amongst the orchards, providing early morning entertainment. Vindoux also has a large dam stocked with Bass, and Carp providing excellent fishing. The dam is home to many native and migratory waterfowl as well as countless plant species.
