12/10/2003 - League Update part 2 - Robin

Scoresheets You are reminded that players' registration numbers MUST been shown on all scoresheets. I suggest that the easy answer here is to have a file with all players names and numbers, plus playing numbers if these are fixed for the season. It is then a simple matter to run a copy before a game, deleting any non-participants, and give this to the table.

Please understand that this is not merely and administrative formality. Increasingly, safty in all sports, at all levels, is coming under scrutiny, and especially so when minors are involved, which is increasingly the case in this League. It is essential therefore that all of us are seento be aware of this, and actively meeting our responsibilities. The EBBA and League Licences together ensure that there is no possibility of an unregistered, and therefor uninsured, player taking part in any game; thus there is a clear responsibility on clubs fully to implement these measures, and on the League to enforce them.

12/10/2003 - League Update part 1 - Robin

Notre Dame Eagles. Levent Utku has informed me that, due to other demands on his time (principally, his National Youth League commitments), he will be unable to run his Norfolk League team and has therefore withdrawn it from the competition. Notre Dame's first game, against Reepham Rapiers 1, has already been postponded due to the venue being unavaliable, therefore they have not actually played any league matches.

Disappointing as this news is, it should be seen in the context of concerns expressed by a number of clubs over Notre Dame's difficulties in meeting their commitments to this League last season.

However, on a more encouraging note, I have recently recieved enquiries from three other mens' clubs with a view to entering the league next season.
